Beautiful High Speed Water Photography

I love high speed Photography. Being able to capture a moment in time that we, as humans, would otherwise be unable to see. The beautiful mixture of technical precision and artistic freedom.

The following are a collection of High Speed Photographs featuring the use of water or liquid. While you may have seen many collections featuring water, bullets, exploding fruit etc, I thought I would pay tribute and showcase some of the most stunning and beautiful liquid based High speed Photographs.

3D Imaging Reloaded!

Last year, we saw the introduction of the Fujifilm Real 3DW1, the world’s first consumer 3D camera. Since then, we have seen new 3D lenses and also some cameras that have limited 3D features. But the only dedicated 3D digital camera remains the Fujifilm, which has now been upgraded in the form of the W3.

Features
The new Real 3D W3 is the only 3D camera that also shoots 720p high-definition video, with stereo sound. The implementation of 3D technology is similar to the way the human eyes work. Two lenses are set apart at a distance of 77mm (similar to the distance between the human eyes), and two sensors interpret the data to form one 3D image. To view the photograph, you need a 3D television set with special glasses, or Fujifilm’s special 3D Viewer. However, if you wish to make 3D prints, you will have to put your plans on hold, as Fujifilm is yet to release its 3D printers in India. Ofcourse, you can simply view the images on the lenticular LCD screen of the camera. The older version of the camera featured a 2.8-inch LCD screen with a resolution of230,000 dots. But, the upgraded W3 boasts of a bigger 3.5-inch screen, with a much higher resolution of 11,50,000 dots. The camera has two Advanced Scene Modes, namely Advanced 2D and Advanced 3D. The Advanced 3D mode lets you create a 3D image from two shots of a moving subject that are taken at a specific,user-defined interval. This can prove to be very effective when shooting moving objects in an otherwise stationary scene. On the other hand, the Advanced 2Dmode lets you take two simultaneous shots with different looks. Besides these features, the camera also has parallax control to correct ghosting.

Graphical Visions

Creative Communication

“Photography is the perfect medium for me to express my creativity and thereby communicate what I feel and see,” he opines. But does the fact that he is a visual designer have an impact on his photography style? “As a graphic designer, I have an understanding of composition and various elements of visual design like lines, forms, shapes and textures. This background gives me a good idea on how to frame my photographs.” This understanding is clearly refl ected in his photographs. Architecture captured in crazy, geometrical patterns, a whole lot of textures, an interplay of light and darkness, all fi gure very prominently in his photographs. “My work is an attempt to explore and create moments from the often ignored, yet unique remains of the concrete jungle in order to reconstruct an urban aesthetic,” he says.

Beauty in Colours

Another very prominent feature of Sanjay’s work is that his images are fi lled with colours. Riveting blues, bright greens and lovely neon colours all fi nd a place in his photographs and add a certain drama to the frame as a whole. “There is a lot of colour in India, and it is very diffi cult not to notice it. Since I compose my photographs in a minimalistic fashion, only the very colourful part of the environment is captured,” he explains.

Photography

Photography is the art, science, and practice of creating pictures by recording radiation on a radiation-sensitive medium, such as a photographic film, or electronic image sensors. Photography uses foremost radiation in the UV, visible and near-IR spectrum. For common purposes the term light is used instead of radiation. Light reflected or emitted from objects form a real image on a light sensitive area (film or plate) or a FPA pixel array sensor by means of a pin hole or lens in a device known as a camera during a timed exposure. The result on film or plate is a latent image, subsequently developed into a visual image . An image on paper base is known as a print. The result on the FPA pixel array sensor is an electrical charge at each pixel which is electronically processed and stored in a computer image file for subsequent display or processing. Photography has many uses for business, science, manufacturing , art, and recreational purposes.
